Thorsten and I got our East Coast Trip planned! We’re very excited! I’m not going to lie, I do love to plan trips. Thorsten and I travel well together and always have a blast. We still have the site seeing details to hammer out but we have our methods. The important thing is we have our rooms and transportation settled.
So how do we manage that? Well, we have various ways and we like to have many options so we can pick the best for us. But let’s start with this new site that was introduced to us: AirBnb
The premise of this site is that you can actually rent an entire apartment, or a room, or share a room in many cities around the world and the price is comparable to a hotel. You can find yourself in a nice area without spending a fortune.
How it works: you type in the city, dates, and how many guests (just like a normal hotel). On the left hand side you will see a map of your chosen city and the right will be the list of available places based on your location.
You should also note that you can choose if you want an entire place, a private room, or a shared room. There is also a nice dial where you can decide how much you are willing to pay for a night.
The site is very user friendly and Thorsten and I found ourselves inundated by the options. There were many.
Just a side note: if you are ever interested in spending the night in a European castle (like my friend Amanda is planning on doing) this would be the site to look through to find it.
We are only doing this for our New York trip so I will give you a full status report after it’s all said and done. But if it works out, I think we will definitely be considering using them again in the future.
For those of you who have used AirBnB before, what are your thoughts on the site? Good experiences?
