My sister came to visit this last weekend. You may recall in my St. Patrick’s Day post about it also being her birthday.

She and her family came to visit this last weekend. I know we don’t actually look a like but trust me we’re related. We go back:

I mean we go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back:

Yeah, we’re related.
Anyway, she wanted to take advantage at having a free place to stay in Chicago as well as hang out with the lil sis.
She and the husband brought their three kids and we huddled together in my apartment. They arrived on Saturday and since it was a long morning for them taking the train from Indianapolis, we just went to Water Tower Place to look at some of the shops.

It was a good first day getting the kids used to the idea of taking Public Transportation. They weren’t a big fan at first but by the end of the day Sunday they were like locals.
The next morning (Sunday), we got up early and made our first trek to Navy Pier. I immediately took them for some Garretts:

Then we went outside. Of course some pretty pictures were taken:

And then an attempt of a family photo was made….

Then we decided that after popcorn we needed real food. So we went into Harry Caray’s Tavern. Where more photos were taken.

So after the delicious food and slow service, we decided to walk off our meal and head to the museum campus. We decided to spend the afternoon at the Shedd Aquarium.
I personally love the Aquarium. For those of you familiar with my current project: my novel is set at Shedd for a time so I enjoy coming back for more ideas.

The kids really liked it. There was so much to see.

Then I took them outside to the road between Shedd and the Planetarium for a beautiful shot of the city:

Oh but our adventure did not end there! We trekked back into the city for some Chicago Style Pizza!

Oh yes, then we had to hop on the train and make the journey back to the apartment. Trust me, the kids were pooped by the end.

Hell, I’m pooped writing this!
All in all, it has been a blast with my sister, husband, and kids this last weekend. It’s tiring running around with three little ones but it was definitely worth it!
They’re here until Tuesday so maybe I’ll snag some more embarassing photos before they leave 😛
