This photo was taken over a year ago. I had just met Thorsten a few days before and I had taken him and his colleague, Sefan, out for a personal tour of Chicago. Of course I took them to the Willis Tower (which I still call the Sears Tower) where I got to check out their sky deck. This photo is of me looking directly down 1,353 feet to the ground below me.
It’s a cool photo because it was the beginning of Thorsten’s and my friendship….which obviously turned into a relationship. It’s also a good symbol of where I am in life. I am on the edge, with the whole world in front of me. It’s overwhelming and looking down to see how far I have come is daunting and scary at times. But instead of a glass case keeping me from falling: I have him.
Sappy, I know.
Happy Friday!
