Birthdays and Peruvian Independence

As always, birthday weekends between T and I are epic.  He came on Friday to Ravensburg to pick me up to take me to Ueberlingen where we had another apartment appointment.  We liked it (it was our second choice), we liked the owners and it turned out that they liked us, too.  We got the apartment!!!! w00t!!! We already signed the contract by Saturday and we will be ready to move in by the last week in August.  So now we just wait.

After that appointment, we went back to Ravensburg where there was a festival that took over the whole city.  It’s called Rutenfest and apparently it’s a big deal.

Here the guys where these Robin Hood type hats covered in flair. Turns out they are representative of the different drum clubs and their rank

Loads of fun.  We had hoped to go again the next day but it was raining cats and dogs.  So we went to Ueberlingen to sign the apartment contract and made the trek back to Hilgartshausen where there was another festival nearby.

There is a club that T is a part of called Club of Fishing and Soccer (Verein für Fisch und Fußball).  The club literally revolves around these two activities.  Mostly they just get together a few times a year to party.  To help, the club bought a small piece of land with a little fishing pond in the middle.  They usually host their parties here for members and friends.  They usually host a few bands in the little island in the middle of the pond.  It was too cool!!!

After such festivities…what did we do on Sunday for T’s birthday? A small barbecue with the family and marathoning Battlestar Galactica.  Good times!

Happy Monday and HAPPY PERUVIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY!

  1. That stein of beer makes you look like you’re 8!! LOL love it
The Fishing and Soccer group bought a piece of land together?!?! That’s awesome! And really kind of amazing…. is land super cheap out there? Do they pay for and maintain ti through like club dues? Totally fascinated.

Congrats on the apartment!!! Can’t wait to see it 🙂
So miss you loads lovey *muah*

    1. I am actually not sure what was the deal with buying the piece of land. It’s like 1/8 of an acre and literally consists of the pond. But they get together a few times a year on this land to party. They also try to get anyone and everyone to join so they can show how diverse they are. Someone they got a Japanese Sushi Chef….yet no one knows how the hell that happened. lol
