The Lights, The Music, The Flammkuchen!

So it feels like every weekend I go to visit Thorsten there is a festival or two happening.  This is actually true.

Several weeks ago T and I went to a “Beach Party” a few towns over.  The name is quite comical because while it was plenty party, we are waaaaaaay to far from anything remotely similar to a beach.  But there was a pool!

All you 90s kids should remember Jimmy Eat World as one of their songs was the theme to Malcolm in the Middle.  But if you are not familiar with the Augustines…..here’s a taste:

Anyway, we actually didn’t go to the concert because we didn’t want to pay.  But we knew of a Beer Garden nearby (literally across the tiny river) where we could chill for free and hear the music.

Just sayin’ everyone needs to add Flammkuchen to their list of good eats to have while in Deutschland.  This delightful food translates to ‘Flame Cake.’ It’s literally an oven baked flatbread with cheese, peppers, onions, and ham.  Delish!

Anyway, until Wednesday!!!!
