Yeah, I was that Jerk at the Parade Today….

How so? Well, the day before, I went out to Media Markt (the German Best Buy) in search for some new toys.  I found this awesome stick normally used to make epic selfies….

Well, I was really pushed to buy it when I saw these photos that my cousin, Stefanie, posted on her Instagram account of her and her fiance in Peru

Aren’t they awesome?  Thorsten likes to tease me about buying this thing but he also agrees that having it for moments like these in our planned trips.

Today we went to a village just outside of Crailsheim in order to witness what is called the Hammeltanze:

The Hammeltanz literally translates to “Mutton Dance” – I wish I was making this up.  It’s a kind of sheep festival but I didn’t see any sheep involved.  Today was just a parade.

So what does this have to do with my new toy? Well, this was my view of the parade:

I wish I was kidding, but compared to other Germans, I am quite vertically challenged.  Therefore having something that could reach high above the crowd and take photos was sooooooo worth it.

I apologize ahead of time for the not to stellar quality of the photos this time.  I was standing directly in sunlight so trying to take photos without getting a glare was near to impossible:

So now I will end this post with the most unflattering photo of me:

IMG_7065I pulled the stick out for a selfie.  I am laughing at how ridiculous it looks while Thorsten has a hint of fear in his eyes! haha!

Bis Mittwoch!
