Food porn!

I’ll get to that in a minute….

So I have been doing a lot of research lately on other blogs out there on the blogosphere.  It’s not for comparison (because everyone should make their blog their own – no copy cats!) And it has been brought to my attention that my blog is turning less and less of a travel blog and more of an expat blog (with some travel thrown in).

At first I was a little disheartened by this because I wanted to one of those travel blogs.  But when seeing how other expats posted their adventures, I found that it was what I was already doing.  There were also more ideas that came with it!

One of the ideas was about showcasing new recipes I have learned while living here! Thorsten and I no longer eat prepackaged food (partly because our freezer is the size of a small shoebox and partly because we found making it homemade tasted infinitely better).  With the tiny size of our fridge, I find it very difficult to cook in bulk (much to my dismay).  So I end up cooking every day.

This also meant that I had to get creative quickly in order to make not boring food.

I was actually going to write about a recipe but it has been a crazy evening.  This Satuday is another holiday in Germany which means that the stores are closed on Saturday.  They are also normally closed on Sunday……You can then imagine how the stores will be on a Friday so we spent our Thursday evening stocking up.

Thorsten then decided that I need something from home: a halloween pumpkin 🙂

 

Then Abner decided that he would give moral support.

 

It was so late by the time we got back that all we had was bread, meat, and cheese-oh! Also our current addiction:

Well, I will keep this post brief and post some preview photos of some recipes I will post you guys.  Some are from me and others are Thorsten’s creations.  Enjoy!
