For some reason today, I have that song from Rudolph’s Shiny New Year stuck in my head as I am writing this. What am I talking about?
Yeah…..I use to watch this a lot as a kid….
We are in day 2 of 2015 and I have thought about what to write as my first post o the year. A lot of bloggers write about what they have done, their stats, best posts, best photos, etc. I thought about it, but then I realized that if you want to relive some of your favorite moments of La Mari’s 2014, then WordPress went through all the trouble for me and created a report for me anyway….
Instead I want to let you guys know what I am planning for this coming year….
Travel:
There are a few countries on our list this year to visit. We have a few weddings coming up this summer. One in Spain and one in Scotland.
That’s right, of all the photos to choose of these crazy kids, I choose the most embarrassing 🙂 One of my closest friends (and twin) Elizabeth is tying the knot with this Spaniard on my birthday this year in Sevilla, Spain! Can’t wait!
By the way, this photo was taken at the Indiana State Fair back in 2011. If some of you Americans recall the epic stage collapse of the Sugarland concert – we were there working the Fair that day. Actually, we were at the booth just outside the entrance to the stage. Fortunately we were already done working by the time the storm hit but we still had to take refuge at a nearby pavilion. This photo was taken as we were getting ready to brave the storm and get back to our car.
Some of you may recall my Three-Island-Tour in Scotland back in 2011 where I went on a road trip with these two lovely people and we got to see the Isle of Staffa.
These two are in still in Scotland where they will be tying the knot in early June this year.
Oh and I finally was able to upload videos from our trip. They aren’t long and only two but check them out!!
There is also plans to hopefully go to the Netherlands this year to visit my friend Ana Sofia. I went to her wedding in Luxembourg last year and now she is the mother of one lovely little girl:
Also the Czech Republic is on our list because it is literally a neighbor to Germany and how else am I going to prove that I am a bohemian at heart with a trip to Prague (because being a faithful fan of Rent and Moulin Rouge is just not enough).
Of course there will be a trip to US (Indiana and California) to visit with friends and family, because: logic.
Also there is an ever growing list of people who making plans to come to Germany so there will be lots of guiding and tours and photos just within the beautiful Germany.
Activities:
If you recall my post from this last Wednesday, you may recall that one of my resolutions this year is to conquer the slopes….we have another ski trip coming up at the end of January so I will have to get practicing before then. It’s a good thing we live so close to the Alps.
I also plan on finally getting my novel finished. God damnit.
I am thinking about finally trying that Goodreads challenge….100 books in 2015. I have been doing a shitty job on keeping on with my reading this year….so maybe with a little push, I will do it. 100 maybe not seem like a lot, but I think it’s a good start this year.
Also to do with writing – maybe I will actually bite the bullet and doing NaNoWriMo this year.
For this blog, there may be the possibility that I will lower my number of weekly posts again in order to catch up on my other writing projects, but we will see. I am feeling up to the challenge. However, I am working on taking better photos for you guys. The first step is a class given to me by T for Christmas. I am very VERY excited about this 🙂
Also, I will do my best to feature more Abner. We have started teaching him more tricks. It turns out that he loves snowboarding and he also learned to say hello!
At the moment, this is it officially for 2015. It’s only the beginning of the year so there are plenty of opportunities for more adventures and flexibility. This is only the short list of what 2015 will bring and I am excited for more to come!
Happy New Year, dear friends and Schoenes Wochenende!
Bis Montag!
