Viva Las Vegas

Viva Las Vegas! Viva Las Vegas!

You know, before I even left for the States, my co-workers (and T included) all joked that we were going to get married in a chapel in Vegas with Elvis presiding over the marriage. You can imagine their surprise when I told I didn’t get married – but I did get engaged. It was pretty hilarious.

That being said – we had a great time in Vegas. We also spent a lot of money there, which was to be expected. But what was not expected was how gorgeous this oasis was. In the US, we say ‘Go big or go home,’ and that saying certainly applies here in Vegas. Everywhere we turned, the buildings seemed to be getting bigger and bigger.

We, of course, did the usual Vegas sites: Grand Canyon, Cirque show, gambling, cupcakes.

Yes, Sprinkles cupcakes of AWESOME!!!! Oh man do I miss cupcakes:-D But I can make them in Germany – I am just too damn lazy.

We did some shopping (mostly because I was a huge idiot and forgot my swimsuit back in Germany) and sightseeing –

We tried out some cool fusion food – Peruvian beer with sushi…um….yes, please!

We ventured outside of the strip to go to Stratosphere – it looks like the Space Needle in Seattle; except that we were in Vegas. Obvious, I know. The big reason why we went out there was because T had heard that there were rides. There were three:

The first – Big. Hell. No. I can’t stand heights as it is, but put me on a ride that literally throws you over the side. Um, no. The second and third I probably could have done. As long as I actually feel strapped in and safe then I can focus on the fun adrenaline I get when riding a ride and not the ‘OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOHMYGOD’ one. That’s not as fun. But T was determined to ride one, so he did the Free Fall (if you squint real hard you can see that T is the lone rider on the side facing me). The view was also pretty rad.

We didn’t stay long because it was our second day in Vegas and we were jet lagging like no one’s business. We had tickets for our Cirque show that night, but a nap was more important by the end.

Overall – Vegas. Was. Awesome. I learned afterwards that one of the other Fellowship girls came to Vegas a week after we were there. Curse the gods and our bad timing! Maybe next time! I will definitely want to do Vegas again!

Bis naechste Woche!
