It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

So the fourth country T and I went to on our four countries in on day? You guessed it: back to Germany.

This post will be another photo heavy post but it will be on an awesome German topic: Christmas Markets!

My first Christmas Market of the year was technically in Chicago.  I know, I know….it wasn’t in Germany….but aside from the towering skyscrapers….it was just like Germany!!! I swear….

But then the first German one of the season was in Rothenburg ob der Tauber with T and Nicola:

Up next we went to the Weihnachtsmarkt in our own lovely Überlingen:

If you see the mug with flames is Feuerzangenbowle. It’s Glühwein with a rum soaked sugar cube set on fire that drips into the wine.  It’s amazing. It’s also strong.  T and I only shared a mug.  After another two mugs of Glühwein each then we were quite tipsy.  This turned out to be T’s favorite Weihnachtsmarkt to date.  If you get a chance…definitely check out this one 🙂

During our Four Countries in One Day post, we spent the last part of our evening going to Lindau to check out their Christmas Market:

But before we were in Lindau – we actually found a little Christmas Market in Liechtenstein:

Last on my list was the town of my employment: Ravensburg.  I met up with my Chicago Friends for dinner and more Glühwein 🙂

  1. LOVE the Christmas markets 😀 Now that I’ve celebrated those weeks leading up to Christmas with them, can’t image that time without them. But I haven’t really had a chance to explore the markets in different cities like you did. This was cool to read and see some differences. I’ve see the markets in Munich, Cologne and Prague. All very nice ones 😀
