A Trip Down Memory Lane…..with Tapas!!

The weekend of my birthday was quite the event.  Not only was it a celebration of my 29th year but it was also the same day as my twin’s wedding.

Wait, what?

Ok, so I don’t actually have a twin.  My friend Lizzy and I have been friends for ages. When I was twelve and she fifteen, we were asked at a Peruvian party if we were twins or just sisters…

We’re just friends.  But since then we have called each other Gemela (or ‘twin’ in Spanish).

Yeah, we look a like a lot :-P
Yeah, we look a like a lot 😛

This was also a big deal because I had lived in Sevilla for my spring semester 2008 back at IU.  The whole ride to our hotel was one flood of memories after the next.  I was also excited to share this with T.  He had not been to Andalucia so it was going to be an adventure for him.

Anyway, we arrived on a Thursday in Sevilla and arrived at our hotel….right next to the Cathedral of Sevilla…

We were also fortunately around the corner from where Lizzy was with her entourage. We met up with them to go do a little sightseeing.

Twinsies!
Twinsies!

This day trip turned into a bachelorette party for Lizzy

It was a typical American Bachelorette party, complete with penis shaped straws.  Unfortunately those photos are NSFW so just use your imagination and know that it was fun.

The next day, T and I drove the hour to Cordoba.  We literally went just to get T a good paella and see the Mosque but the drive was totally worth it!

It was so great to be back in Spain.  Honestly our time was too short.  I can’t wait to go back again in order to show more and explore new places! Sorry there wasn’t much to write, it’s a very photo heavy post today.  I hope you enjoy it.  Next week I will write about the big wedding of my twin and her Spanish love 😉

Bis naechste Woche!
